Welcome to Our Blog

Checkout is the critical final step in any online sale – it’s where a smooth experience can make the difference between a completed purchase and an abandoned cart. We’re excited to introduce our new CoreY-powered checkout configuration, packed with features that make the process faster, smarter, and more customizable for Coreware customers. In this article, we’ll walk through what’s new in the checkout settings and how you can use these tools to create a better experience for your shoppers. No fluff, just the facts and features you need to know.

One of the biggest improvements is the ability to toggle on/off various checkout features to fit your business needs. For example, the new checkout supports:
• Guest Checkout: Allow customers to complete purchases without creating an account. This reduces friction for first-time buyers.
• Customer Order Notes: Let shoppers add a note or special instructions to their order during checkout (e.g. “Leave package at back door”).
• Loyalty Points Redemption: If you offer loyalty rewards, customers can apply their accumulated points as a payment method at checkout.
• Show Wishlist Items: Option to display a customer’s saved wishlist products in the cart, reminding them of other items they might want.
• Related Products in Cart: Automatically show related or recommended products in the shopping cart, creating upsell opportunities.
• Split Payments: Enable shoppers to use more than one payment method for a single order (for example, split between two credit cards).
• Gift Cards: Accept gift cards as a payment method during checkout.
• FFL Dealer Enforcement: For firearm retailers, require the customer to select a Federal Firearms License (FFL) dealer before checkout if the cart contains regulated items. (This ensures compliance by preventing checkout until a valid dealer is chosen.)
All these features can be turned on or off in the Features section of the new checkout settings, giving you control over what options your customers see. By tailoring these to your store, you can streamline the checkout experience and reduce barriers to purchase.
Beyond payment and cart options, the CoreY-powered checkout lets you customize the text and messages that shoppers see during the checkout process. You can configure various custom messages to make the experience more informative or on-brand:
• Checkout Header Message: A note at the top of the checkout page (e.g. “Secure Checkout”) to reassure customers.
• Order Summary Message: A message in the order summary section (for example, a thank-you note or holiday greeting).
• Order Confirmation Message: Text that will appear on the confirmation page after order completion (e.g. “Thank you for your order, we’re processing it now!”).
• Promo Code Success Message: A custom line shown when a promo code is applied successfully (for instance, “Great choice, your discount has been applied!”).
In addition to static messages, you can create announcements that display during checkout. Announcements are perfect for time-sensitive info or promotions, you can write a short message, choose an icon (optional), and set how long the announcement should run. You have flexible scheduling options like a preset duration, a custom number of hours, or a specific date range.
For example, you might show an announcement about a weekend sale or a shipping delay notice, and have it automatically expire when the date passes. These notices appear prominently during checkout to ensure customers don’t miss them.
Together, custom messages and announcements let you add a personal, informative touch to the checkout. Whether it’s a friendly note, important info, or promotional message, you’re in control of the wording, no coding required.

Nobody likes searching for the fine print, so the new checkout makes your store policies visible right within the flow of checkout. In the Policies section of the settings, you can fill in the text for:
• Return Policy: e.g. “30-day return policy on all non-firearm items.” This text will show up during the order review step of checkout.
• Shipping Policy: e.g. “Free shipping on orders over $100.” This appears when the customer is choosing a shipping method.
• Privacy Notice: A short message about data privacy (for example, “Your information is secure and will never be shared.”). It will display when the user is signing in or checking out as a guest.
• Terms and Conditions: The terms text (e.g. legal or regulatory notices) that the customer can read in a pop-up/modal during checkout. Typically a link or checkbox will prompt them to view and accept these terms before placing the order.
By presenting these policies contextually in checkout, you ensure customers are informed about crucial details (like return eligibility or shipping rules) at exactly the right moment. This transparency can build trust and set the right expectations, all without the customer leaving the checkout page.
Your checkout should feel like an integral part of your website. The Branding settings in the CoreY checkout allow you to match the checkout pages to your brand identity. By default, the checkout will inherit your site’s existing design settings, but now you have options to fine-tune the styling:
• You can adjust colors, fonts, and button styles specifically for the checkout interface to ensure consistency with your store’s theme. For instance, you might want the checkout buttons to use your brand’s signature color if not already reflected.
• An Advanced tab lets tech-savvy users add custom CSS for even more styling control. This means if there’s a very specific layout or visual tweak you need, you can implement it via CSS. (Of course, using this is optional and only recommended if you’re comfortable with stylesheets.)
The goal is to provide a smooth, on-brand experience from start to finish. A cohesive design in checkout not only looks professional but also reassures customers that they’re still in your store’s environment while completing their purchase. With these new tools, you can eliminate any jarring transitions or generic checkout pages by truly making the checkout your own.
The new checkout settings also introduce a Fulfillment & Offers section to help set clear expectations around shipping and pickup:
• Delivery Estimates: You can create custom delivery messages for each shipping method you offer. For example, if one shipping option is UPS Ground, you might display “Typically 3–5 business days” right next to it. This helps customers choose the option that suits their needs and reduces surprises about when their order will arrive.
• Store Hours for Pickup: If you allow in-store pickup or have store hours that affect order fulfillment, you can define your business’s operating days and hours. The checkout will show these hours, which is especially useful if a customer is selecting an in-store pickup or local delivery time. It sets the expectation (e.g. “Orders placed now will be ready when we open at 9 AM tomorrow”).
These features make the checkout experience more informative and customer-friendly. Shoppers get real-time information on shipping timelines and store availability, which can help them make better decisions (and potentially reduce the number of “Where’s my order?” inquiries you get later).
The new CoreY-powered checkout settings give you, as a Coreware user, a richer toolkit to optimize your e-commerce checkout. By enabling the features that make sense for your store and customizing the messaging, design, and policy displays, you can create a checkout process that is fast, user-friendly, and tailored to your business. All of these updates are aimed at reducing friction for customers, which means fewer abandoned carts and more completed orders, while also giving you flexibility to operate the way you want.
We encourage you to explore these new settings in your Coreware admin (look for the Checkout Settings in your coreFORCE setup) and tweak them to match your needs. As always, our team is here to help if you have questions or feedback. We’re committed to continuously improving the platform (with the help of CoreY’s insights) to help your business thrive.
Happy selling, and enjoy the new checkout experience!
